What is Homeschooling?

Homeschooling is a model of education where families decide to educate their children themselves rather than enroll them in a private or public school.

Is Homeschooling Legal?

While Homeschooling is forbidden in many countries, in the United States, families have a constitutional right to education their children as they see fit. And therefore, they can pull them out of traditional school and educate them at home, or as more often the case may be, out in the community.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many families found themselves “forced to homeschool.” However, long-time homeschoolers pointed out that what these families were doing was not really homeschool, but online school.

What are the benefits of homeschooling

There’s a new movement of techies, teachers, artists, nurses, entrepreneurs who have decided they can do things better than their local school. For the most part, they’re frustrated. Here’s the solutions they’re finding in homeschooling.

  1. Homeschooling allows for 1–1 instruction (Mastery Learning), but classrooms are overcrowded: At home they can give their kids 1–1 instruction and personalize their learning. Mastery Learning leads to learning that’s 2 standard deviations above
