Homeschooling Easy Peasy

I recently discovered that the most popular homeschooling curriculum, Easy Peasy Homeschooling, includes content that embraces creationism, plays down climate change, and worst of all, condemns homosexuality. Many prominent homeschool sites warn parents that this curriculum is religious, but don’t point out it is biased and scientifically inaccurate.

Here are some examples from the curriculum:

Homophobic Content:

On homosexuality: “What are some of those sins? (hint: verses 26–31) (answer: homosexuality, greed, envy, murder, gossips, senseless”.

Homophobic content in a curriculum designed for children is inexcusable and life-threatening to teens and children who are trying to come to terms with their identity.

Homophobia has no place in education or religion for that matter.

Climate Change:

On Climate change: “Although the global climate change has been small, it has been consistent; leaving scientist to wonder how our climate will change in the next several decades…despite global warming, it is important to understand that without the greenhouse effect, life on earth as we know it would not be possible..”

“Leaving scientists to wonder…” I wonder where the evidence is that scientists are wondering…
